New Year, New Blog, New Site!

First off, Happy New Year everyone! To mark the start of 2011, we decided it was time for a little change! We’ve had this blog and brand for several years now, so it was definitely time for something new + fresh. We launched a new brand and a new name for our wedding website on Jan 1st, so from now on, all new posts will be at This Modern Romance and a new wedding website will be launching in just a week or so. Stephanie Williams Photography will still be around, but will remain a portfolio for my fashion and editorial work. This blog will remain parked here as well, but will not be updated anymore. Please be sure to change your RSS readers and feeds, etc and bookmark our new blog! 2010 was an unbelievable year for us, full of change, lots of travel, and many adventures. This year alone we went to Taipei, Taiwan ; San Miguel De Allende, MX; Charlottesville, VA; Vancouver, Canada; Maui, HI; Seattle, WA; Sedona, AZ; Westport + Cape Cod, MA; and all over California - San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Julien shooting weddings and editorial shoots. We definitely feel blessed to have met and documented so many wonderful couples, and can’t wait for what 2011 has in store! Thank you to all those who have followed + supported us this far…please feel free to leave us a comment on the new blog to let us know what you think!

Erin + TJ | wedding

Erin + TJ were married at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point, one of my favorite Orange County venues! These guys are an amazing couple with the cutest baby I have ever seen - so sweet and adorable! The wedding day was truly a reflection of their love and one awesome celebration. In the morning, TJ went surfing at San Onofre with his groomsmen to start the day off right. The couple got ready at the Laguna Cliffs, and then we headed to the beach to take advantage of the gorgeous California light. During the ring exchange at the ceremony, TJ surprised Erin with a diamond ring, and I just loved her reaction! They had the band the Tijuana Dogs play all night long, and the reception was an awesome party! The day was definitely filled with lots of laughter, happy tears, and joy.

Kristen + Jeff | wedding

It poured rain on Kristen + Jeff’s wedding day, but I think that it perfectly fit San Francisco in the Fall! And it gave Kristen a chance to wear her awesome Hunter rain boots with her wedding dress! These two are really so amazing, and were up for anything…even pictures on the beach under an umbrella. They were married at the gorgeous Legion of Honor Museum, and although they had originally planned an all outdoor ceremony, the rain didn’t stop them - they held their ceremony under the lovely stone pillars in the Legion courtyard and it was absolutely…perfect. Their reception was held in the museum amongst the works of art and the rain outside only added to the cozy feel inside. Here are just a few of the many details:

Stephanie - Hi Erin...thanks for the kind words! We shoot with a variety of lenses and our workhorses are the 70-200 2.8 and 24-70 2.8, but our favorites are the 85 1.2, 50 1.2 and the 45mm 2.8 tilt shift.
