Bridal Fashion | Inspiration

Today I had the wonderful priviledge of shooting dresses designed by Joan Shum. She makes such lovely, lovely gowns - so rich with texture, style, and craftsmenship! The awesome hair pieces and jewelry were from amazing Etsy artsits, whom I will be featuring on the next post. I will be posted many, many more images with more details from the shoot, but I can’t help post just a few here for now…

Jennifer + Eric | Engagement

I had so much fun hanging out with Jen and Eric! We lucked out and had amazing weather for the shoot right before the torrential rains. Their wedding will be held at the Turnip Rose, and I can’t wait to shoot there again - It’s where Isaac and I got married over 4 years ago.

Family Portrait Giveaway | giving is awesome

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – $500 worth, to be exact - a family portrait session including a bundle of gorgeous prints. It’s in your power to give a needy family the artwork they deserve this holiday season!

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Southern California. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : stephanie@stephaniewilliamsphotography.com

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve…get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries! Open your heart to someone this holiday season – and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

*If you have a family in mind, but they happen not to live in the Southern California region, please click on the map below to find a photographer nearest them who is also a part of “Giving is Awesome”

craving some polaroid action

I was searching the internet for ways to convert my old Polaroid camera to use newer film, and I ran across the Poladroid. It’s a free application that takes your digital photographs and converts them into “polaroids.” Of course, it’s not the same as the real thing, but it’s definitely fun to play with! I made a couple from a few images I had lying around of me and Isaac…
