The perfect shade of red lipstick. check. hot English accents. check. a gorgeous Villa reminiscent of Italy. check. I love Holly + Ed! Holly has the most infectious smile and Ed was ecstatic the whole day! They had the perfect wedding at one of my all time favorite venues, Villa Del Sol D’Oro in Sierra Madre. The weather started out gloomy and overcast, but right before the ceremony the sun came out and shone for the rest of the celebration. Holly’s gorgeous dress was custom designed by Jose Flores . Holly’s make-up and hair was done by the super talented team of Devon Duff and Robin Lamph!

I’m so exited to share this session with you…when Pernel + Aaron contacted me for their wedding, I was already booked! But, I’m so glad they booked for a day after session! I really love shooting these types of sessions - there’s so much more freedom than on the wedding day! We had an adventure in Escondido, pulling off on the side of the road whenever we found a good spot to shoot. Pernel + Aaron make an unbelievably gorgeous couple, and we had so much fun at their session….I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites for the blog…

Marika + Jamie were married at a gorgeous, intimate venue in La Jolla called The Darlington House! These two make the perfect pair! Their wedding was filled with love, lots of family and friends, and a really hot Chevy Nova!  Wynn Austin of Le Chic Wedding Consulting did a wonderful job and was such a pleasure to work with, Tapenade served the most delicious food, and Sweet Cheeks Baking Company made the wonderful wheat themed cake! I absolutely loved Marika’s dress by designer Carolina Herrera….it was very important to them to have an eco-friendly wedding, so many of the details of their wedding had very little impact on the environment. Marika’s dress was second hand, all the paper in the wedding was post consumer waste paper, the favors were seeds from their favorite cooking herbs, Marika grew the flowers for the Ukrainian wreaths herself at home, all the flower arrangements were locally grown, the table runners were recycled and made from curtains, and the caterer served locally grown food!

This post has been a long time coming, but I’m so excited to announce that a brand new, awesome online resource for brides just launched this week!! Utterly Engaged is an online wedding magazine dedicated to the couple that wants to infuse style and creativity into their wedding with every kind of budget! They showcase vendors and fill their pages with pictures, details, tips, and lots of inspiration. A few months ago, I shot a tablescape for the magazine, and you can see that article, titled Midsummer Night’s Dream, on their first issue by clicking the image below… it features florals by Summer from Grey Likes Weddings and cakes from Cheryl Stewart

I’m looking forward to the next issue, which will be even more jam packed and feature a shoot I did alongside JL Floral Design and Sweet and Saucy!! I can’t post the images from that shoot until the article comes out, but I will leave you with this teaser that I posted a bit ago…

We had so much fun at this session - Ken + Lin are full of love - we could hardly get them to stop smiling! We can’t wait to shoot their wedding later this year in Pasadena!!
