Ruche’s Spring 2010 lookbook launched yesterday, so I can share some of my favorite images from this shoot. I’m in love with the color palette in so many of their Spring items! On Ruche’s blog, Mai wrote a little bit about our adventures on creating this studio shoot. We made each back drop by hand, and Mai and her crew spent many hours making those awesome paper flowers for the first backdrop. We all chipped in to do the huge wall of book pages and flower wallpaper…a lot of work but so much fun as well! Hair and make-up was done by the amazing Nyrie, who also does wedding day hair and make-up as well.

For Jessica + Paul’s day after session, we traveled a bit North to the quaint surfing town of Sayulita, Mexico. It ended up being super hot that day, so we started off in the shelter of Hotel Hafa, a super cute boutique hotel, and then took our time exploring the little town. The shoot was complete with a reading from two “psychic” birds called “luz” and “sol”, who pulled a little card out of a stack with your fortune, and with a fresh pineapple mai tai! All in all, a perfect way to end our day!

I’ve been wanting to share this lovely destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! Jessica + Paul’s wedding was nothing short of amazing! They were married at the Guadalupe Church in downtown Puerto Vallarta, and their reception was held at the Dreams Resort. These two couldn’t be more in love, and there were so many lovely details at their wedding. One huge highlight was the baby turtle release right before the reception. It was so amazing to watch the little guys scurry toward the ocean and be swept up by the waves. The couple’s parents also surprised them with a giant fireworks display over the water to kick off all the dancing! The girls at The Dazzling Details did a wonderful job with the decor and keeping the yellow + gray + lovebird theme throughout - I loved the hanging birdcage lanterns on the dance floor! baby sea turtle release!!

You may remember Kristin + John’s wedding at the SLS Hotel a few months back - gorgeous purple themed wedding and almost all completely DIY decor by the bride and groom! On the wedding day, the tight schedule didn’t allow for a lot of time with Kristin + John by themselves, so they opted for a day after session. So, a few months after the wedding, we met them at the mission in San Juan Capistrano for tons of romantics shots of the two of them. Shooting them again, a few months after being married and settling in, we saw a new depth of tenderness and love between them. Also, they just found out that they are expecting a little one, and we’re so excited for these two!
