Jordana + Mike | mentor session

The wedding season is still in full swing around here, and we have been so blessed with shooting + traveling so much recently, but I feel I haven’t had too much time to keep up with blogging! There are so many things I still need to post about and many awesome weddings that I can’t wait to share. This week, my little brother is getting married, and I’m so unbelievably excited for him. Isaac and I are in the bridal party, so it’s going to be very interesting being on the other side. I’m going to try my best not to pick up my camera and start documenting everything! Now onto our post…a while back we did a full day mentor session for Nancy, who was just starting out in her photography business. We focused on developing a shooting style, learning how to nail exposure quickly while working in the field and using/harnessing natural light, and what it takes to start a small business. She’s such a sweet and amazing woman, and we had so much fun that day! Jordana + Mike were our awesome model couple for the afternoon! We love these two and can’t believe their wedding at Darlington House in San Diego is just right around the corner!

George Rivera - You are my favorite photographer...actually you're tied with Elizabeth Messina in my imaginary list. :) Your ability to capture emotion is what inspires me to pick up my camera. Thank you.

Lindsay Stanford - I have been Following your work for awhile...and im sure you have classes to teach this stuff. But i was wondering a bit about your serects. How do you get such clear Photos? Mine seem to get out of focus when shooting more than one person. For example. Someone up front and one person very close, but in the back to the 1st. they are really out of focus ...when i know for sure i was focusing on them. Confusing..i know hah. I'm young and starting to do bands/fashion/weddings and im curisous to know how to get a clear pictures during golden time. Should i been using a Flash? Seems they come out granie. I have a Canon 5D mark ii but maybe im not useing it right. Your the only person you can save me! Hope you dont mind me asking, but i cant sleep at night hah Lindsay

Yuka photo art - Breathtaking.....these two are sooo beautiful!

Chris Correia - I love your use of lighting. It looks really beautiful

jody percy - Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos!! They captured the couples personality beautifully! :)

Kehlei Chen - Hi Stephanie! I love and admire you and your husbands style of capturing intimate moments. I especially appreciate your use of vibrant and muted colors in your photos. I have shown your work to every wedding couple I know! With all that being said I was wondering if you are in need of a photography assistant? I have been shooting on my own as an amateur photographer for a year and have become very interested in vintage photography. I live in the bay area and would travel at the drop of a hat to assist you or to have a mentoring session if thats what you can offer me. Please give me details. Thank You! Kehlei
