A few weeks ago, we did a half day mentor session for a super cute photographer from Hong Kong…Hazel Chiu! I love her hair! We focused on lighting, especially when shooting in strong sunlight, directing your subject, and finding your ideal client. For the demo session, Hazel + her husband Freddie were the subjects, and got a feel for what it’s like in front of the camera. They are headed back to Hong Kong to take the photography world by storm and stand out in a sea of very traditional photographers.

Meet our four pet chickens! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to blog about them, but these are the latest members to our household…and we love them! They live and forage in our backyard and have the funniest, quirkiest personalities. We’ve taught them to fly up to our hand for a little mealworm treat! They’re still young, but we should start getting fresh eggs by November! Talk about free range, happy chickens! Jessica + Andrew are two of the sweetest people you could meet, and their wedding was filled with classic beauty! I loved the clean navy and white palette of their wedding, the lovely purses that Jessica hand made for her bridesmaids, and table number journals for guests to write well wishes to the couple! The day started at the Pasadena Langham…Jessica’s hair and make-up was done by the talented Kelly Zhang. Their ceremony was held at the Holy Family Church in South Pasadena, and they exited the church with all their guests cheering and ringing noise makers! The reception was at the Oakmont Country Club and the night was filled with tons of dancing and ended with an amazing dessert display, with all kinds of delicious pastries and donuts!

Isaac and I are in Massachusetts this week shooting an amazing wedding in Westport and a lookbook for Ruche clothing. It’s our first time in this part of the states, and it is unbelievably gorgeous here! We’ve fallen in love with all the breathtaking scenery and colors and textures and history every where you turn. We’ll be back in the office on Thursday, so in the mean time we will be unable to return any phone calls until then and have limited e-mail access during our trip.
