For Jessica + Paul’s day after session, we traveled a bit North to the quaint surfing town of Sayulita, Mexico. It ended up being super hot that day, so we started off in the shelter of Hotel Hafa, a super cute boutique hotel, and then took our time exploring the little town. The shoot was complete with a reading from two “psychic” birds called “luz” and “sol”, who pulled a little card out of a stack with your fortune, and with a fresh pineapple mai tai! All in all, a perfect way to end our day!

You may remember Kristin + John’s wedding at the SLS Hotel a few months back - gorgeous purple themed wedding and almost all completely DIY decor by the bride and groom! On the wedding day, the tight schedule didn’t allow for a lot of time with Kristin + John by themselves, so they opted for a day after session. So, a few months after the wedding, we met them at the mission in San Juan Capistrano for tons of romantics shots of the two of them. Shooting them again, a few months after being married and settling in, we saw a new depth of tenderness and love between them. Also, they just found out that they are expecting a little one, and we’re so excited for these two!

We had so much fun exploring Hawaii’s North Shore for Naoko + Taejo’s day after session - there are so many gorgeous rural fields and nature areas to discover! On their wedding day, we ended up not having much time with them for romantic shots because the ceremony ran late, so were were very fortunate to have a day after session with them, without any of the wedding day’s time constraints. Not only are Naoko + Taejo chic and stylish, but they are so in love, which makes our job that much easier. Plus, they were up for anything, even *sneaking* across a field to shoot in an enormous field of sunflowers! Props to Naoko for walking half a mile in red dirt, in heels for these shots. Naoko’s first dress is by 3.1 Phillip Lim tied with a vintage belt by Shabon. Both headpieces were hand designed by a Korean designer at Shin Bu Bridal and her shoes are Prada. Also, many thanks to Christen of Nineteen Owls Photography, who gave us the full tour of the North Shore and helped us scout out so many awesome locations!

We were so excited when Annie + Brandon asked us shoot a day after session (well, more like a year after session) in beautiful Carmel. I absolutely love the Northern California Coast! On their one year anniversary, we started their day after session a the La Playa Hotel where they were married, and then explored the coastline from there. We had only spoken to Annie + Brandon through e-mail, and it was so nice to finally meet them in person and be witness their sweet love for another. I also love Annie’s style - the combination of lace, vintage birdcage veil, and a soft bouquet of garden roses is just so romantic. Annie is an event planner in the Seattle area and documents her wedding inspiration on her blog, Mary You Me.

I wanted to post a few more shots from around Akumal and from MarieSam + Tommy’s day after session. These first several shots were taken all around the Tulum ruins. Unfortunately, we couldn’t shoot the day after session there - it’s so amazingly gorgeous! We shot the day after session all around Akumal and at a secret deserted beach…our own slice of paradise!
