Persepolis

I just watched Persepolis for the first time last night, and the movie was absolutely gorgeous, poignant, moving, and unbelievably creative. It is based on the autobiographical graphic memoir of Marjane Satrapi, who grows up in Iran, witnessing the beginnings of the Iran/Iraq war, and is sent off to Europe by her parents to escape the effects of it. She returns to her country to find that everything she knew had changed, and struggles to find a place to fit in. It is animated film that is undeniably human. It’s definitely not for everyone, but it is a must see if you like a good independent or foreign flick.

Goin’ Camping!

My family and I (dogs and all) are taking a quick little camping trip to go surfing and get a little R&R to recharge mid-wedding season. I’ll be back on Thursday to answer all my e-mails! I’ll be sure to post some images from our trip when we get back. It will be the first camping trip where we actually bring our pups along, so it should be interesting!

Dragonfly in my backyard…

In the words of Bob Dylan…

“I love you more than ever, more than time and more than love
I love you more than money and more than the stars above
Love you more than madness, more than dreams upon the sea
I love you more than life itself, you mean that much to me…
You’re the other half of what I am, you’re the missing piece
And I love you more than ever with a love that doesn’t cease
You turn the tide on me each day and teach my eyes to see
Just bein’ next to you is a natural thing for me
Cause I love you more than all of that with a love that doesn’t bend
And if there is eternity, I’ll love you there again”

Today is our 4 year anniversary! I love you so much Isaac!

Little Kitty found a good home…!

I’m very happy to announce that our little rescue kitten found an amazing, loving couple this weekend! We were very sad to see him go because we started to grow so attached the little guy (he’s just so cute and has an unbelievable personality), but I really couldn’t be happier that he was adopted by Natalie & Michael! They’ve aptly named the little guy Oliver! I think it really suits him!

Isaac took a few parting shots before Oliver went to his new home…

On another note, I know I’ve been a very neglectful blogger recently, so I promise to make up for it this week! I have so many amazing weddings to post, including Belinda and Peter’s gorgeous wedding at La Venta and Erin and Ryan’s amazing wedding in Aspen!
