Jaime + Jess’ wedding took place at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara, CA on the Fourth of July, and their wedding was filled with so many meaningful details and lovely old and new traditions…Jaime’s mothers dress was worked into the fabric of the chupa they were married under, and instead of a having a traditional bouquet made, Jaime had her closest friends hand her different varieties of white flowers as she walked down the isle, and they were tied together when she reached Jess. Even the bright orange VW bus, which is owned by their close friend, made its appearance. The day could not have been more perfect! The couple entered their reception on chairs straight into the most insane hora ever, and the night ended with a view of the fireworks display over the pier in Santa Barbara…a perfect end to a most lovely wedding! Jill La Fleur from La Fleur Weddings did an amazing job coordinating the day’s events! Gorgeous floral design by Modern Day Design.

Ruche | back to school lookbook

Ruche just launched the Back to School lookbook today! I’m in love with so many of these outfits…oh so lovely and perfect for Fall. Now that we’ve finally had some hot Summer weather here in Southern California…I might be looking forward to some nice cool temperatures, so I can wear one of these cute coats or layered looks. We shot this preview to Fall catalog all in studio…and there will be another Fall series out next month! Mai + Josh created the two awesome backdrops for the studio, one using chalkboard paint and their own old school paperwork, and the other out of tons of post it notes and paper square cutouts! Hair + make-up by the awesome KC Witkamp and the lovely model is Martha from Click Models. You can click on the link or the image below to view the full lookbook.

these first two are test film shots taken with my Contax 645the rest of the lookbook was shot with the Canon 5D mark II and 85mm 1.2 and 50mm 1.2 lenses

Jennifer + Mark’s wedding was pure fun! Their ceremony and reception was held at Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, which was an awesome venue right in the heart of Orange County. Their day was filled with so much laughter and love and more laughter! I loved the color palette of soft pink, taupe with pops of navy! Jen’s dress is by Rosa Clara, her shoes by Steve Madden. This summer has been unbelievable, and we’re just now catching our breath! So, it means that I’ll have some time between our busy summer traveling schedules to update the blog more often. Isaac and I have had the privilege of documenting the most beautiful weddings and wonderful people, and we have so much to blog and share…not only weddings, but commercial work and portrait sessions along with lots of exciting news…within the next few weeks. Shay + Scott are some of the most beautiful people inside and out. They are the rare kind of people where when you meet them, you instantly feel at home with them…and their wedding was filled with equally warm friends and family and wedding details with very personal touches, from the vintage wedding toppers from their grandparent’s wedding to Shay’s hand sewn invites, pillows, and escort cards! I loved the vintage stickers and the soft look of all the pink peonies and her killer Louboutin shoes! Shay’s dress was by Monique Lhuillier and make-up and hair by Teresa Piazza. We started the day at the Hotel del Coronado, and then headed to the Coronado Naval base and Breakers Beach for the ceremony and reception. We had so much fun at their wedding…lets just say that their crew knew how to dance! DJ Cody from Feet First kept the dancing going for hours! At the end of the night, guests were treated to some TABE, a delicious bbq + taco catering truck in San Diego. An awesome sparkler send off was the perfect ending to an amazing evening!

We drove up to California’s central coast to document Amy + Marshall’s lovely wedding day. The two were married at Marshall’s family vineyard, Bien Nacido Vineyards in Santa Maria, CA, amongst lush grape vines and Marshall’s child hood stomping grounds.
