Melissa + David | wedding
Melissa + David are the sweetest couple you will ever meet, and these high school sweethearts had one amazing wedding celebration at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe in San Diego! They had so many lovely details, many of them handmade, that created such a fun, happy environment. Bright pops of greens and yellow were found everywhere, and there were so many lovely details that they could of had a blog post of their own - from the striped green paper straws that said “drink and be married!”, to the fun croquet field, the succulent favors and name displays, the amazing hand made bunting flags, and hand painted signs…! They even created the awesome green, yellow, and white cake display and photo booth wall themselves from salvaged wood. Amorology did an amazing job coordinating the days events and setting up all the lovely details - they are simply the best at what they do! The day unfolded beautifully, and The Flashdance kept the party going all evening long!
Southern Weddings | published
It’s been so hard not to blog about this shoot or share any images from it these past few months, but Southern Weddings Magazine vol III just hit newsstands! We are featured in the Southern By Design article about bringing a fresh look to the Old South! This issue is just full of gorgeous spreads, fresh wedding ideas, and lots and lots of inspiring photography! Jen from Green Wedding Shoes was asked to style her take on a Southern wedding, which was the perfect blend of traditional Southern wedding with a Southern California twist. I loved the concept and what Jen and Carissa, of JL Designs created! The color pop and textures of green tomatoes and raw cotton were so gorgeous, and the worn vintage farm table from {Found} Vintage Rentals was just perfect! You can read more about the shoot on Green Wedding Shoes.

Jordana + Mike | wedding
I can’t help but smile looking through Jordana + Mike’s wedding. These two are unbelievably in love and such amazing people. We met with them a year and a half before their wedding date, and had been waiting forever to document their wedding day! Their ceremony and reception was held at the lovely Darlington House in La Jolla, and the couple did so many of the design elements themselves, from collecting all the vintage bottles for the table centerpieces to creating the look of amazing dessert display, complete with candy and cannolis and a variety of cakes! Jordana’s dress was one of Monique Lhuillier’s first lace dress designs! Her awesome purple shoes are Steve Maddens. The day could not have been more perfect…good food and good company and lots of dancing! Jordana + Mike started the dancing off with an awesome choreographed salsa dance that they had been working on for months….and they were amazing! Congrats again Jordana + Mike…we love you guys!
Hazel + Freddie | mentor session
A few weeks ago, we did a half day mentor session for a super cute photographer from Hong Kong…Hazel Chiu! I love her hair! We focused on lighting, especially when shooting in strong sunlight, directing your subject, and finding your ideal client. For the demo session, Hazel + her husband Freddie were the subjects, and got a feel for what it’s like in front of the camera. They are headed back to Hong Kong to take the photography world by storm and stand out in a sea of very traditional photographers.

I just had to add this shot at the end…I’ve never seen a tarantula all the times I’ve been to this nature spot! such a cool fuzzy guy (or girl)
